Three things, done properly

Floors, showers and backsplashes — instead of a list of twenty trades done adequately.

Bathroom & Showers

Tiled showers built on a real waterproofing system, floors, niches and curbs. The part nobody sees is the part that decides whether it lasts.

The difference

Most tile problems start before the tile goes down

Four things decide whether a tile job lasts twenty years or fails in two. Here is how each one gets handled.

1

The prep actually gets done

Floors get checked for flatness and movement before a single tile comes out of the box. Skipping this is the number one reason tile cracks and grout fails a year later.

2

Showers are waterproofed, not just tiled

A bonded membrane or a properly sloped pan, flood tested overnight, with the curb and niche detailed as part of the system. Tile is not waterproof. What sits behind it is.

3

The layout is planned, not improvised

Where the cuts land, how the pattern meets the wall, what happens at the doorway. Decided and dry-laid up front instead of worked out halfway through.

4

You deal with one person throughout

Same person quotes it, installs it and answers the phone afterward. Nothing is handed to a sub you have never met and cannot reach.

How it works

Three steps, no sales visit

  1. Call or send photos

Text a picture of the room or fill out the estimate form. Most questions get answered the same day.

  2. Free estimate

I measure, talk through materials and layout, and give you a written number. No charge, no pressure.

  3. Scheduled, clean install

You get a start date and a realistic finish date. The site gets cleaned up every day, not just at the end.

Common questions

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. Send photos of the space through the estimate form and you will get a ballpark the same day, or we set a time for me to come measure. Either way there is no charge and no sales pitch.

Do you supply the tile, or do I?

Either works. Most customers pick their own tile and I install it. If you would rather not wade through a tile showroom, tell me the look and the budget and I will put two or three options in front of you.

How far do you travel?

New Bern, Trent Woods, River Bend, Bridgeton and James City are home base. Havelock, Newport, Morehead City and Beaufort are regular. Further out, ask — it depends on the size of the job.

Can you tile over my existing tile?

Sometimes, and it is usually a bad idea. It raises the floor, it hides whatever is failing underneath, and it puts your new tile on a surface you cannot vouch for. I will tell you honestly after looking at it.

How long does a job take?

A standard bathroom floor is one to two days. A tiled shower is three to five, because the waterproofing and the mortar have to cure. A kitchen backsplash is usually one day, two if there is a lot of cutting.
